Van der Sar: The Dutchman was in commanding form to break Arsenal’s hearts 8
Brown: Was one of the many weak links in United’s first half but did improve 5
Ferdinand: Couple of heart in the mouth moments and suspect for Arsenal goal but the rest was top notch 8
Pique: The young Spaniard didn’t lose it as Arsenal dominated and became a steady influence 7
Evra: Had a great battle with Eboue and then closed door on Walcott 7
Park: The Korean was chasing Arsenal shadows all over pitch and couldn’t have any impact 4
Carrick: Recent top form went AWOL. Passing was poor and was culpable for Arsenal goal 5
Hargreaves: His man of the match Roma display didn’t get going until deep into second but what a winner. 7
Scholes: Unusually for the veteran he couldn’t dampen Arsenal’s first half confidence and never got United into it 4
Ronaldo: Cool on the penalty retake but that apart he wasn’t at his supreme best 5
Rooney: The only offensive player in first 45 who looked like he’d do something for Reds and was a great threat 8
