Man Utd New Kit For 2010-2011

Above are Man utd’s new kit for 2010-2011 season.It is totally different from last season’s kit with a sponsor company from AON.

AON is a provider of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance brokerage, human capital and management consulting, and specialty insurance underwriting. It is based in the Aon Center in the Chicago Loop area of Chicago, Illinois, United States. In July 2007, Aon Corp. was ranked as the world’s second largest insurance broker.

Aon was created in 1982, when the Ryan Insurance Group (founded by Pat Ryan in the 1960s) merged with the Combined Insurance Company of America (founded by W. Clement Stone in 1919). In 1987, that company was introduced to Wall Street as Aon, a Gaelic word meaning “oneness”.

On 22 August 2008, Aon announced that it will acquire London based Benfield Group. The acquiring price will be $1.75 Billion (USD) or 935 million pounds, with $170 Million (USD) of debt.

Hi – the green and yellow halves kit is historical – it dates back to the days when United were known as Newton Heath and was worn as the first choice kit sometime around 1892. It was also reprised as a third choice kit in about 1992 as a 100th anniversary. Green and yellow is also the colours of choice of the anti-Glazer movement at United.

As for the change of shirt sponsor, AIG had to pull out due to lack of cash.

I quite like the new kit too, the only thing that worries me is that it is reminiscent of the kit of the late 70s/early 80s which could not by any stretch be called United’s most successful period! I just hope it’s not an omen!!
